Absolutely. All children should be accompanied by an adult at all times. We provide fun activities, but parents and guardians are responsible for their kids’ safety.

Also note, the Victoria Pools also requires that all minors be accompanied by an Adult.

Yes. A Parent Room is a dedicated space for families with young children to rest, feed, or change their little ones in comfort. It’s a quiet and safe area designed to help parents to help with the essential daily duties!

• Respect others’ privacy, this is a calm, shared zone.
• Staff and volunteers are available to assist if needed.

We know Yabun is a big, busy day, if your child becomes separated from you, we’re here to
help.

What happens if my child gets lost?

Lost children (who are found by staff) are taken to a dedicated holding point, where they will be safely looked after by event staff until a parent or guardian is located.

What should I do if I lose my child?

Go straight to any staff member, volunteer, or security guard for help. Provide them with your child’s name, age, description, and last known location so we can act quickly.

Tips to help keep kids safe:

• Point out a meeting location when you arrive so kids know where to go if they get
  separated.
• Take a quick photo of your child at the start of the day so you know exactly what they’re wearing and can share a up to date image.
• Keep small children within arm’s reach, especially near stages and busy walkways.
• Write your phone number on your child’s wristband or a card in their pocket if you feel it helps. Wristbands are available from the Gadigal Information tent if you’d like to collect one.

Your child’s safety is our priority we’ll act fast to reunite families as quickly as possible.

If you come across a child who appears lost, upset, or separated from their family, please help us keep them safe.

What should I do if I find a lost child?

• Stay with the child and immediately alert a event staff member, volunteer, security guard, or police officer.
• Staff will escort the child to the lost child holding point.
• Please do not attempt to walk the child around the event to look for their family, this can make reunification harder and may cause distress.

Important:

Children will only be released to a parent or legal guardian, verified by event staff.
